Syphilis
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that acts like a magnet to attract HIV. When a person has syphilis sores, the body's immune system sends CD4 cells to the area to "fight" the infection - - it is these cells that HIV is attracted to and attacks.

Even though penicillin is the standard treatment for syphilis, it can still be treated if you are allergic to penicillin.
You may need to be referred to a specialist for alternate treatment.
