It appears the application sign-up script was tied to Dan's UofM account. I'll update it before school resumes :-)

meeting

Friday, October 31, 2008

Hi Everyone,

We had a member meeting yesterday at 2:30pm. Thanks to all who came out.
The main topics of discussion were Wall painting, the T-shirt contest, and Halloween.

For Wall painting, we're thinking about doing it over the Christmas holidays, after exams. We will get a list of possible colors up soon for everyone to vote on.
If you're interested in helping, please email us (rpm@umsu.ca).

We have extended the t-shirt contest with hopes of more submissions.
A t-shirt party will be held next wednesday (Nov 5) tentatively at 7pm. An email will be sent out confirming the time. At this party we will all try to make more submissions for the contest, so the membership will get to vote on lots fo choices.

Member Meeting - Sept 18

Friday, September 19, 2008

We went over a whole lot of stuff at the meeting.

A few ideas we shared with the members are:

a bowling league (very informal, maybe once a month)

monthly movie nights in rpm (wednesday was requested, so we have a suggestion sheet for movies to play on Oct 1st)

we're having a t-shirt design contest for new rpm shirts, it ends oct 30, details have been emailed and posted in RPM

wall art to revamp the room a little bit more, submissions need to be approved by a facilitator (this is a safe space)

we got the new couch and so far 2 floor cushions, we're looking at getting some more cushions

Tracy Edwards is doing CIBC Run for the Cure on oct 5, we have a jar on the desk for donations and a little blurb from her

tentatively the mixer will be on friday, oct 3rd in degrees, we'll keep members posted on that

We need to meet with the guy from UMFM, but we're looking to begin an LGBT radio show and are accepting volunteers to be on it and do research, interviews, etc.

Also, Rainbow Resource Center has their annual fall supper coming up and are looking for volunteers, it seems like a good idea for us to put a group together and go help them.

AND - We've just put up a corkboard at the entrance to RPM to keep the members updated; its already full with posters, lists and contests.

Back to School

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Welcome back RPM members! We hope your first week back has been fantastic, and it has been super great to re-connect and see some new members out already. Julie and I would like to give you all a run down of all the events coming up in the near future.

One of the first events this school year is the drag show on Thursday *September 11th* at noon in the quad. Later the same evening Drag Queen bingo 7:00pm In MPR (multipurpose room 2nd floor UC).

The Second Event is Student Recruitment week *September 15-19*. Our tables dates are still yet to be given to us, however we will let you know as soon as we know. We are looking for volunteers to join us at the tables. (on the days yet to be determined)

The Third Event is our First meeting which will be held on *September 18th at 2:30pm *in the RPM*.* We hope to see you all out. (pun intended)

The Fourth upcoming event is the RPM Mixer. We are looking to book Degrees for a night in early October. If any of you have preferred nights please feel free to drop us a line so we can accommodate as many of you as possible.

Finally (whoa) We have posted a list for office our volunteers on the door and welcome you to sign up as you see fit. Also there is a new membership list available to fill out beside the computer.
And it begins... Welcome back,

-Alishia and Julie
