Legendary "Lady Bunny" to DJ at Dance Party PDF Print E-mail

ladybunny_small.gif Winnipeg Pride is proud to announce that the legendary perfomer Lady Bunny - presented by Gio's - will be a special guest DJ at the Pride Dance Party Fusion: Sugar & Spice. A renound performer and skilled DJ, Lady Bunny is sure to add little bit of sweetness and a whole-lotta spice to Winnipeg's biggest queer dance celebration.

"The higher the hair, the closer to God," says Bunny, who was named the country's #1 drag queen in by Genre Magazine, and by Mixer Mag as "drag DJ extraordinaire." This "Lady" is best known as the founder, producer and Mistress of Ceremonies of Wigstock, New York's Labor Day dragfest since 1984.

Her first New York haunt was the seminal Pyramid Club.  Whether spinning lounge tracks at various media launches and corporate parties, performing her own cabaret-style revenue or just terrorizing and delighting the unwary night public every chance she gets.

As a DJ, the emphasis is not on mixing but on playing her across-the-board style of tunes that people love. Either a rousing set of disco classics, hip hop and r&b, dance underground house or top 40.  She is hired all over the world like Harvey Nicks in London, fashion shows in Milan, media launches in New York or being the first ever DJ to spin at the Legendary L'Opera Garnier in Paris.
